Build a Clemmons day around the lake

A practical first visit to Clemmons can start with a short outdoor break around Village Point Lake, followed by dinner at 2520 Tavern and a hotel in nearby Bermuda Run. The official Winston-Salem tourism organization presents the Clemmons and Lewisville area through its food and recreation options; this guide makes no invented search-volume or popularity claims. Guilford Courthouse in Greensboro is a separate regional history option. The five photographs illustrate that additional outing, rather than the Clemmons lake, restaurant or hotel. Choose your daylight walking window first, then fit the meal and overnight arrangements around it. That sequence leaves space for a comfortable visit without treating every destination as part of one continuous route.

Village Point Greenway: keep the scale realistic

Use 6610 Village Point Lake Drive for Village Point Greenway. The village describes nearly three-quarters of a mile of paved paths around the lake and a segment beside Frank Morgan Elementary School. This wording should not become a promise of a precisely measured uninterrupted loop solely around the water. Future connecting paths are also distinct from facilities already available. A short walk with pauses by the lake and a return to your starting point is a sensible introductory plan. Respect the everyday use of the school-adjacent segment. Paving alone does not establish that every slope, temporary condition or part of the route will suit an individual accessibility requirement; check the relevant details before relying on them.

Dusk is the closing rule

The current municipal page says the greenway closes at dusk and prohibits activities after dark. Do not plan an autumn evening around a fixed 9pm closing time shown by a mapping service. Work backward from daylight and allow for the return walk, photographs and slower members of the group. Swimming and tobacco use are prohibited, as are motorized bikes, scooters and motorcycles. Read temporary notices at the entrance as well as the published rules. If rain leaves the surface slippery or daylight is running out, shorten the outdoor portion instead of rushing to complete a distance. A useful visit can consist of an easy out-and-back walk rather than an exercise target that forces the group to hurry.

The fishing pier is not a boat launch

Village Point Lake has a fishing pier and is promoted as a stocked community fishing location. That does not make it a swimming area, kayak launch or boating base. The village page lists swimming and launching boats, kayaks and canoes among prohibited fishing-access-area uses. Anyone planning to fish should check current licensing and species requirements with the responsible authority rather than relying only on a travel article. An older property blog is not a substitute for the latest official rules. Visitors who simply want a short lake walk can leave fishing equipment out of the plan. Give working anglers room on the pier, keep food waste away from the shoreline and avoid obstructing other people using the access area.

A specific dinner at 2520 Tavern

2520 Tavern is at 2520 Lewisville Clemmons Road. The dinner-menu image linked from the restaurant’s own website lists Salmon Piccata: grilled salmon over steamed broccoli with the house piccata sauce and fried jumbo shrimp. This provides a concrete main-course option rather than a generic suggestion to try seafood. Treat the menu image as a planning reference, not a guarantee of an unchanged price or every ingredient on a later date. The shrimp garnish makes it especially important for guests with shellfish concerns to speak directly with staff about preparation. Before setting a fixed meal time, ask whether the dish is available in the relevant dinner service and whether the restaurant can accommodate the group.

Coordinate restaurant hours with daylight

The restaurant’s official schedule is closed Monday, open Tuesday through Friday from 11am to 9pm, Saturday from 4pm to 9pm and Sunday from 11am to 9pm. A Saturday midday walk therefore does not lead automatically into an immediate lunch here. Long opening hours also do not prove that the same dinner dishes are served throughout the day. Ask about the correct service for Salmon Piccata. In autumn, finishing the greenway before dinner makes better use of daylight. The lake and restaurant are separate addresses, not a signed continuous walking route; arrange your own transfer between them. If driving, consider parking and the return journey before the meal rather than dealing with those details when the group is ready to leave.

Stay nearby in Bermuda Run

Hampton Inn Bermuda Run Winston-Salem is a nearby hotel option at 196 NC Highway 801 North in Bermuda Run, rather than a property in central Clemmons. Choose it with that separate location in mind. Hilton lists check-in at 3pm and checkout at 11am, with hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and self-parking included. An indoor pool appears among the amenities, but ask about maintenance and operating arrangements for your stay. Airport shuttles to Piedmont Triad International and Charlotte/Douglas are unavailable, so arrange an independent transfer if arriving by air. Do not assume covered or secured parking; the hotel-information page does not list those features as available. Confirm room requirements, cancellation conditions and the complete rate against your actual dates.

A separate Greensboro history day

For a longer stay, Guilford Courthouse National Military Park can provide a separate history outing in Greensboro. It is not an extension of the Clemmons lake path or another section of the same municipal park. Use 2332 New Garden Road for the visitor center. NPS lists the center Wednesday through Sunday from 9am to 5pm and Tour Road vehicle access from 8:30am to 5pm. Walking and cycling access runs from dawn to dusk. Account for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day closures when planning the center and vehicle route. Hoskins Farm buildings open for special events, so ordinary-day indoor access should not be assumed. Check park announcements for changing conditions before leaving your accommodation.

Read the photographs in their proper context

The public-domain NPS photographs show two distinct views of the Greene equestrian monument and three archival activities from 2025: a cannon crew, outdoor painting and Junior Ranger art. These past events are not a daily visitor schedule. Do not travel expecting the scene in an archive photograph to be repeated that day. Greensboro park gates close at 5pm, and vehicles left inside can be subject to a fine. The identified after-hours lot is at New Garden Road and Old Battleground Road; it does not authorize driving through a closed gate. Calculate the trip back to Clemmons or Bermuda Run using current traffic. If time is short, enjoy the lake and dinner route first and keep this regional history visit for another day.
